BankforMAP (bèta version) is a two-dimensional model that computes the probability of streambank erosion at the catchment scale due to a rainfall event and can also calculate transport and deposition of large wood along streams. Probability rankings of streambank erosion are obtained by using different scenarios for computing the critical shear stress used in the calculation of streambank erosion. It uses the one-dimensional framework model of BankforNET to compute the local hydraulic streambank erosion. BankforMAP is used for applications such as:
- Management of protective forests along streams
- Assessing the role of riparian vegetation in streambank stability
- Large wood risk analysis.
